JES is seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and results-driven Buyer to support our growing manufacturing operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted material flow, supplier performance, inventory optimization, and production support across a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Position Objective:

The Buyer is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, including purchase order placement, supplier management, material planning support, shortage mitigation, inventory monitoring, and supplier performance. The role works closely with Planning, Operations, Engineering, and Quality to ensure materials are available to support customer demand, production schedules, new product introductions, and business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a sense of urgency, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to proactively manage supplier relationships while balancing cost, quality, delivery, and inventory objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute purchasing activities to support production schedules, customer demand, and operational requirements.

• Create, manage, and maintain purchase orders within the ERP system.

• Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, components, outside processing, and indirect materials.

• Monitor open purchase orders and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure delivery commitments are met.

• Manage supplier relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for order status, delivery performance, and issue resolution.

• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and delivery conditions to support company objectives.

• Escalate supply risks, capacity constraints, and delivery issues before they impact production.

• Review and execute MRP recommendations to support material availability and inventory optimization.

• Analyze demand requirements, forecasts, and production schedules to ensure timely procurement actions.

Experiencia y requisitos

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of MRP, inventory management, and purchasing processes.

• Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor experience preferred).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.

• English proficiency (written and verbal) approximately 90% or higher.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

• Experience supporting sheet metal, fabrication, electronics, or industrial manufacturing operations.

• Experience supporting customer ramps and new product introductions.

• Knowledge of supplier performance metrics and KPI management
