NPI Buyer

The NPI (New Product Introduction) Buyer is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate procurement of materials to support new product launches. This role is highly execution-driven and requires a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and relentless follow-up.

A key focus of this role is leveraging Epicor ERP to manage purchase orders, track material status, and maintain data integrity, while proactively communicating and escalating shortages to ensure on-time builds. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and the ability to work seamlessly with internal teams and suppliers to drive results.

Key Responsibilities

1. Purchase Order Execution (Speed & Accuracy)

- Generate and release purchase orders in Epicor quickly and accurately to support NPI timelines

- Validate all PO details (pricing, quantities, lead times, specs) prior to release

- Adjust POs as engineering changes occur

2. Epicor ERP Utilization

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within Epicor ERP

- Monitor open POs, due dates, and material availability directly in the system

3. Communication, Collaboration & Escalation

- Act as a key liaison between Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and Suppliers

- Proactively communicate material status, risks, and changes

- Identify and escalate shortages early and clearly

4. Supplier Follow-Up & Accountability

- Drive timely supplier acknowledgment of POs

- Confirm delivery commitments and hold suppliers accountable

5. NPI Material Readiness

- Ensure all materials required for new builds are available on time

- Support Clear-to-Build readiness by tracking all open items

- Actively manage shortages, late deliveries, and engineering changes

6. Attention to Detail / Data Integrity

- Validate BOMs, part numbers, and specifications before placing orders

- Maintain high accuracy within Epicor

- Quickly identify and correct discrepancies
