At Hunter Industries, we are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general accounting, financial reconciliations, and financial reporting, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, international manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting activities, including account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and foreign currency accounting activities.
- Maintain and reconcile consignment inventory records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Process accounts receivable transactions, apply customer payments, and coordinate the resolution of payment discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain accruals, prepaid expenses, property tax accounts, and supporting financial schedules.
- Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and assist with annual audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and established accounting procedures.
Experiencia y requisitos
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general accounting.
- Advanced English proficiency, both written and verbal is a MUST
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computerized spreadsheets.
- Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards is preferred.
- Experience with account reconciliations, financial analysis, and month-end closing activities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
